Hello, friends. Welcome to the Virtual Uncharted Books Experience, a rocket boat made out of books and a dog straight into the 20th century. If you are unfamiliar with Uncharted Books, we are an independent rare and used bookstore in Chicago serving our community for over 8 years. In addition to the wonderful books we offer, Uncharted Books prides ourself on providing our customers with spicy opinions, sparkling conversation, and cute dogs.
We are now entering a difficult time for many small businesses like ourselves. With our physical storefront temporarily closed due to the COVID-19 crisis, we need a way to both A.) pay our bills, and B.) translate our certain je ne sais quoi into a format that doesn’t require in-person interaction. After much brainstorming and hand-wringing, we are thrilled to announce a new era in the same weird bullshit we’re already known for:
VUBE
Yes, it’s VUBE, the young people’s favorite. The Virtual Uncharted Books Experience is a new subscription blog where, for the coming weeks and beyond, we will be posting daily with book takes and stories, rare book mysteries, Ramona glamor shots, guest columns, and more. Come for the elaborate dog photoshoots, stay for the inside story on how we came to acquire an extremely graphic turn-of-the-century guide to treating itchy butthole syndrome.
