Ramona update: We miss kids.
Those of you who know Ramona IRL know that she loves kids. The sillier, the better. Most kids love her too, though she sometimes has too much enthusiasm for very little ones.
These days we’re all feeling lonely. I’ve been thinking a lot about the below comic from the wonderful Sir Lyra Hill (@sirlyra) and really feeling that energy. We don’t have kids at home, and it’s easy to take for granted what it does for our mental state to just encounter people under the age of 30 for a couple of minutes each day. With no sprightly energy to vampirically siphon from unsuspecting youths, we’re really feeling our age.
Anyway, all this is to say that we sometimes take Ramona to the playground near our house and let her goof around. She’s such an upbeat, gentle-hearted dog that we’ve always thought of her as our big, fluffy kid. We hope her adventures are bringing good vibes into your day too.
Ramona is questioning how good of an idea running up the slide was. We are now officially Up High.
Down we go!
The skate park has seen better days. But good enough for our purposes!
The neighborhood kids (whom we never actually see in person) are keeping the faith. Several times a week, they add to their inspirational sidewalk chalk message board. Thanks, kiddos. We needed that.
Thanks again for subscribing to VUBE! Your continued support warms our hearts and helps ensure that we’re able to keep our lights on and our employees paid. As always, there are many ways you can get your book fix and support your independent bookstore during these difficult times. Please visit our oft-updated digital storefront where you can purchase rare and new books from us. We also offer what some fashion experts are calling “extremely good merch,” gift cards, mystery bags, and the option to shop virtually! All very cool!
And an extra special thanks to Sir Lyra Hill for the comic. If you’re not familiar with their work — from Brain Frame (RIP) to Multi-Cult — you’re really missing out. This is a good place to start!
